03/24/2013 - College PREP - Rochester, NY Jenna is a talented young C/3B with the potential to have a bright future in this great game. As a C, she has a strong presence behind the plate, blocks well and has very quick feet to both block and throw. She has a consistent glove to hand transfer, is an accurate thrower and will benefit from improving her receiving by getting the glove away from her body with her fingers working to the outside of the ball. As a 3B, she uses her feet well, has an athletic fielding position and produces accurate throws with carry. She will benefit from adding a prep step, getting her hands further out front with her fingers down and playing through the ball by following her throws with feet aggressively. At the plate, Jenna uses a closed stance with no load, a short stride and keeps her weight back before launching her short swing to the ball. An aggressive hitter, she can hit the ball to the opposite field, has some pop and will enjoy more power production if she uses her lower half more aggressively on every swing. Overall, Jenna is a great young kid and plays the game the right way. She gave the coaches her full attention and was able to quickly apply the information and should continue to do so to ensure her development progress steadily over time.
