06/20/2014 - College PREP - Savannah, GA Jessica is a freshman third baseman / right-handed pitcher with a well-balanced skill set. Defensively, Jessica receives the ball with sure hands. She plays through the ball well and uses her momentum to make an accurate throw across the diamond. She has active footwork and has good range to her glove side and backhand. By working on her pre-pitch setup, and staying lower to the ground Jessica will have better reaction time on third base. On the mound, Jessica keeps the ball in the low 50's with her change up coming in around 38 mph. By working to consistently hit her spots, Jessica will become a more effective pitcher. Offensively, Jessica hits from the left side of the plate. She uses an open stance with a short stride to get to contact. She has a short swing path and consistently hits the ball hard. Jessica will benefit from letting the ball travel deeper into the hitting zone. Overall, Jessica is continuing to develop as a player.
