02/22/2014 - College PREP - Mt. Laurel, NJ Jillian is a junior catcher with a well-balanced skill set. Behind the plate, Jillian receives the ball with soft and sure hands. She catches the ball out in front and sticks the ball in the frame position. Jillian has active footwork with agile range when moving to the ball. She does a good job of using her body to block the ball and keep it in front. Jillian will benefit from having a more athletic setup before receiving the ball. Offensively, Jillian is a left-handed hitter that uses a slightly closed stance with a downward load to make a positive move to the ball. She is an aggressive hitter that keeps her balance slightly on her backside through contact. When on time, Jillian makes hard contact and has pop to the gaps. By creating a smooth weight transfer, Jillian will be able to increase her power numbers. Overall, Jillian is a tough player that will continue to develop.
03/09/2013 - College PREP - Mt. Laurel, NJ Jillian is an athletic young C with a solid skill set. Defensively, she is a quick twitch defender with the ability to flash a sub 2 pop time as she displayed with one of her throws clocking in at 1.97. She is sure handed, has active feet and replaces them well to throw. She will benefit from sitting lower in her stance with her chest in a good centered/athletic position while getting her fingers to the outside of the ball to properly receive. At the plate, Jillian uses a square set up with a back load, simple stride and sound balance before launching to the ball. She flashes pop and will be able to drive the ball more consistently if she commits to executing a back foot pivot on every swing to keep her lower half involved at all times. Overall, Jillian has some feel on both sides of the ball and should continue to seek quality reps and instruction to ensure her development continues in a timely manner.
