07/24/2023 - Softball Factory All-State Showcase Tournament Josephine is a 2027 grad out of Renton, WA who pitches and plays the outfield. She coachable, works hard, hustles, willing to make adjustments and is a team player. She throws hard (58MPH) and has a good change in speeds keeping hitters off balance with her changeup. Josephine has quick hands at the plate and good bat angles to contact. She has pop and a 61MPH exit velocity hitting the ball gap-to-gap. Overall, Josephine is a skilled player with the ability to take her game to the next level.
07/13/2023 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Tacoma, WA Josephine is a 2027 graduate out of Renton, WA who pitches and plays outfield. She is a strong athlete with an overhand velocity of 60MPH. She hit a top speed of 58MPH with her curve ball and has solid movement. She has a calm and confident presence on the mound and a tall and controlled finish. In the grass, Josephine is aggressive and plays behind and through the ball. She has good glove mechanics and on target throws. She has power in the box and gets to extension hitting line drives consistently with gap-to-gap shots. Overall, Josephine is a strong athlete with the skill set to take her game to the next level. We look forward to seeing what the future holds with her entering 9th grade.
08/24/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Redmond, WA Josephine is a talented 2027 RHP/OF who attended the Redmond, WA Softball Factory Event. Pitching wise, she throws a fastball, changeup, and screw ball. She has controlled mechanics, throws consistent strikes, and has good movement on the ball. Something for her to continue to work on is more leg drive, and a more direct finish. In the OF, Josephine is aggressive to the ball, has a quick exchange/release, and has good carry on the ball. If she can work on better footwork and taking better angles to the ball she will be even stronger in the OF. Hitting wise, she has a good setup in the box, drives her legs/hips well, and is a gap to gap hitter. Something for her to work on is making sure she tracks the ball all the way into the zone and doesn't pull her head. Overall, Josephine is great to work with and someone our coaches always love seeing at events!
06/03/2021 - Softball Factory College World Series - Futures Select Training Josephine is a 2027 right handed pitcher. With a confident structure on the mound, Josephine showcased her fastball, change up and screwball. Her fastball had sharp movement with a velocity of 51 MPH. She is able to maintain control over her change up and screwball, allowing her to throw them for strikes. Josephine fields her position on the mound very well. In the box, she is very aggressive with the bat. She has a square and athletic set up with fluid rhythm. Josephine is able to consistently put the bat on the ball, forcing the defense to make a play. Overall, Josephine is a coachable athlete who possesses the skill set in order to continue her training on the field.
01/20/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Omaha, NE Josephine Thompson is a 2027 right-handed pitcher and first baseman with a developing skill set. On the mound, she has a calm presence with a good arm path. At first base, she has accurate double play feeds and works hard to finish routine plays. Offensively, Josephine can spray the ball to all areas of the field. Her balance is centered, and she has a fast barrel. Overall, Josephine a is a coachable athlete who works hard and focuses on improving her fundamentals.
