02/16/2019 - Mid Atlantic Regional Softball Hitting Weekend It was great seeing Julia again! She has worked hard to improve her skill set. In the box, she sets up in a tall open stance with her hands high. Her load is small and she uses a square stride to start her swing. Her hips and hands work together with a firm front side and a compact swing path. By using more load and weight transfer she will increase her power. Overall, Julia is a line drive hitter and gets hard contact.
12/16/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Madison (NYC), NJ Julia is a 2025 left handed pitcher and first baseman with a developing skill set. On the mound, she extends through well on her release and keeps an open hip direction. She is controlled in her finish and has good balance throughout her pitching motion. She has a free arm circle and is smooth in her mechanics. At first base, she stays low in her fielding position and has soft hands when receiving the ball. She makes accurate throws to her target and makes routine plays. Offensively, she has a good hand path to the ball and keeps her head on the ball at all times. She needs to focus on using her legs more throughout her swing so that she can create the maximum pop in her contact. She shows good pop to her pull side and if she can keep her hands inside the ball through extension, she will create good pop to the opposite side of the field as well. Overall, Julia is very coachable and if she continues to work hard, she will do what it takes to play at the next level.
