12/29/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Swarthmore (Philadelphia), PA Julia is a 2023 left handed first baseman and pitcher with a strong skill set. On the mound, Julia has a calm and confident presence about her. She uses her legs well in her pitching motion creating good speed behind her pitches. On her drop ball she displays good wrist action and correct spin behind the ball. Her change up is a great pitch her for to mix in to throw batters off balance because she has a nice drop off to this pitch and can find the corners when needed. She has controlled mechanics and stays tall in her finish. At first base, Julia has fluid footwork and an athletic fielding position. She stays low through the ball and has a clean exchange to her target. She fields the ball with soft hands and keeps her motion through the ball short and compact. Offensively, Julia has a square set up in the box with a short stride to the ball. She is smooth in her rhythm and loads back well in her legs. Her hips and hands work well with one another and she generates power through her explosive bat speed. She makes consistently hard contact and shows power to her pull side. Overall, Julia is very coachable and has a great attitude. If she continues to work hard she will do what it takes to make a great asset to a collegiate program.
