01/17/2014 - 2014 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament Kaitlin was chosen to participate in the Pre-Season All-American game as a second baseman. Defensively, Kaitlin has an out front fielding position with an athletic approach. She has clean hands with active footwork and playable range. Kaitlin will benefit from working on her angles to the balls in the holes. Offensively, Kaitlin uses an athletic setup with a short and square stride to make a positive move to the ball. She has an on time lower half and a level swing leading her to consistently make square contact. By working on staying inside and through the ball, Kaitlin will have better extension and pop off of her bat. Overall, Kaitlin is an athletic and smooth player that will continue to grow and develop.
06/24/2013 - Softball Factory World Series Kaitlin continues to develop athletically with maturity. Her eagerness to learn and make adjustments sets a tone on the field. As a 2B, she has an athletic fielding position, soft, sure hands, quick footwork with a controlled approach, excellent range with various balls, and quick double play feeds and pivots. Continuing to focus on finessing the skill set will increase efficiency and fielding success. As a RHP, she has strong fundamentals such as leg drive, arm action, pitch control, and position awareness. Continuing to focus on keeping the hips open, staying composed when runners are on base, and finessing individual pitches will increase accuracy, velocity, and movement. As a hitter, she has a consistent stride and load, quick bat speed, and fluid rhythm that produce hard contact. Continuing to focus on utilizing the lower half, keeping the front side closed, and timing will increase power and efficiency. Implementing a strength and conditioning program will increase speed, agility, power, body awareness, and coordination. As Kaitlin continues to refine and mature through application and experience, she will be on track for seeking collegiate attention.
02/24/2013 - College PREP - Las Vegas, NV Kaitlin is an intense two way player with a great approach to the game. In the circle, she uses a full arm swing with forward hand position in an athletic stance with level shoulders and displays some rhythm/tempo throughout her delivery. She has a very good feel for changing speeds while pitching to contact and is naturally instinctive off the rubber to field her position. She will benefit from continuing to work on finding her release point, keeping her arm tight to her body and staying in line with an athletic finish/square landing. As a 2B, Kaitlin is a soft sure handed defender with active feet, an aggressive approach and a solid understanding of the position. To further develop, she needs to field further out front, keep her hips low in her groundball approach and keep her feet active/quick at all times to maximize range/effectiveness. At the plate, Kaitlin uses a square set up with no load or stride, centered balance and has an aggressive path to the ball. Coachable at the plate, she makes adjustments quickly, flashes the ability to drive the ball and will benefit from getting her hands ready earlier and keeping her front hip on the ball as long as possible. Overall, Kaitlin is a go-getter and has the potential to play at the next level with continued hard work and attention to details in her preparation.
