11/19/2014 - Softball Factory Fall Classic Kaitlyn is a senior shortstop with a solid skill set. Defensively, Kaitlyn has an out in front and ready fielding position. She has proper footwork and moves well from side to side. Kaitlyn has a good arm, quick release, and makes accurate throws across the diamond. She knows game situations well and always plays a step ahead. Offensively, Kaitlyn has an aggressive approach. She is a strong hitter with a ton of raw power. Kaitlyn has excellent bat speed and barrel accuracy, which helps her make consistent contact. By working to smooth out her load and stride, Kaitlyn will see a timing difference and become more comfortable. Overall, Kaitlyn is a talented kid with a lot of power that will succeed at the next level.
04/27/2014 - College PREP - Rochester, NY Kaitlyn is a talented SS with a well-balanced skill set. Defensively, she has good reads and routes to various balls, smooth double play pivots and feeds and understands the position well. Working on a throwing regiment to improve strength will help to improve velocity and efficiency. Overall, Kaitlyn communicates well on the field and has a confident approach to playing defense. As a hitter, she uses a square set up with a back load and short stride and keeps her balance centered before aggressively making hard, consistent contact. She shows natural power and will benefit from going down to get low pitches with her legs to improve power on contact, ultimately allowing her to access the entire field effectively. Overall, Kaitlyn has a good frame for the position and solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
