08/23/2015 - College PREP - Honolulu, HI Kama-Lei is a 2016 SS with a passion for the game. In the box Kama-Lei is a RHH that uses an open stance with good balance and fluid rhythm. She generates good speed, extends thru the hitting zone and consistently puts the ball in play. She is able to use the whole field and is able to generate pop. Working to clear her stride and load sooner will allow Kama-Lei to see the ball deeper in the zone and generate more power. Defensively Kama-Lei has an aggressive approach at SS and shows good range. She presents her glove on time, looks the ball in and fields with soft/sure hands. She communicates well with her team and with good field awareness she sets up for strong feeds/flips on the double play. Playing through the ball and make a quicker transfer will allow Kama-Lei to gain ground to her target and challenge runners. Overall Kama-Lei is a coachable player and with continued reps and exposure she will have the opportunity to take her game to the collegiate level.
