06/20/2014 - College PREP - Savannah, GA Karina is a sophomore right-handed pitcher with a developing skill set. On the mound, Karina an athletic stance, backwards hand positioning, and a full arm swing to deliver the ball. She uses a curve, screw combination to attack each batter. Karina also has a change up that comes in at 43 mph. She does a good job of making each pitch look the same from delivery. Her curve ball is her best pitch and by working on her wrist snap, she could add even move movement to this pitch. Offensively, Karina uses a square setup, backwards load, and short stride to make a positive move to the ball. She maintains good rhythm throughout her swing and drives through contact. Karina makes hard solid contact and gets to extension at times. By working to add a load into her swing, Karina will only increase her power numbers over time. Overall, Karina is a young athlete that looks to continue to develop as a player.
