11/03/2013 - College PREP - Mobile, AL Katelyn is a talented 3B with a well-balanced skill set. Defensively, she moves well laterally covering ground to various balls and makes accurate throws. Working on staying down and through the ball with soft, sure hands will help her to improve field exchange and efficiency. Overall, Katelyn has a confident approach to playing defense. She is a switch hitter with much potential. She uses a square set up and keeps her balance centered before making contact. She has good bat control for the bunts and slaps from the left side and shows good gap to gap pop from the right side. She will benefit from bat extension after contact to improve power, ultimately allowing her to access the entire field effectively. Overall, Katelyn has a good frame for the position and has solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
