On the mound, she shows a repeatable delivery, allowing her arm action to work loose to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 52-55 mph with tight spin. Changeup sits 33-35 with slight sink. Screw ball sits 50-52 mph. Curveball sits 52-54 with spin. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as she throws strikes with all of her pitches. At the plate, she displays solid hitting / power potential through a crouched setup. Hands are quick (65 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. She makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach, spraying the ball to all fields with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as she displays smooth / clean actions. She takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and works to get behind, playing through with momentum to her target. Range is a plus as she moves well laterally and covers ground. With 5 years to further develop, Katelyn shows the makings of a special type player as she continues to progress her game.
