06/19/2017 - Softball Factory World Series Katelyn returns to Softball Factory for another event. During game play Katelyn worked the count in her favor and was able to draw the walk. She showed consistent line drive production as well. Working to create a smooth load in her hands will allow her to create more momentum in her swing and see an increase in her gap production. Defensively Katelyn is a confident player that is willing to leave her feet to keep the ball in front. She reads the ball off the bat, takes good angles and makes a quick transfer. She is confident with her backhand and makes accurate throws. Working on her arm strength will allow her to make those though backhand throws with carry. Overall Katelyn is a coachable play and with continued exposure she will have the opportunity to play at the collegiate level.
02/12/2017 - College PREP - Corpus Christi, TX Katelyn is a 2018 shortstop with a strong skill set. Defensively, Katelyn has active footwork and has good range to her glove side. She square, athletic in her fielding position and takes good angles to the ball. Katelyn has a clean exchange to throw and short arm action for a quick release across the diamond. She works well with her momentum and makes accurate, on-line throws to her target. Offensively, Katelyn is athletic in her setup and is very aggressive in the box. She swings hard through the zone and displays home run power. Katelyn has an explosive lower half and hits with explosive bat speed. Overall, Katelyn is a strong athlete that will be a great asset to any team she is apart of.
