01/17/2014 - Softball Factory Spring Training at Vero Beach Kearstin is a young, talented C with a well-balanced skill set. Defensively, she uses an athletic set up with sure framing skills to efficiently get to her release point when throwing. Working on controlling her body weight transfer as she gets to her powerline will help her to improve accuracy and footwork. Overall, Kearstin makes adjustments easily and has a confident approach behind the plate. At the plate, Kearstin uses an athletically balanced set up with good bat extension before launching to the ball with an explosive lower half. She shows good power and will benefit from implementing a stride and load to improve power and consistency on contact, ultimately allowing her to access the entire field effectively. Overall, she is naturally athletic with a great work ethic and has solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
