Defensively, Kelsey has a square and athletic field position. She has fluid and active footwork with soft hands. She anticipates the ball well and stays low. She displays a clean exchange and accurate feeds to her target. She shows strength behind her throws and keeps the ball on line. She has a great backhand and follows through well in her throws to her target. She is very smooth in her movements and displays great range. Offensively, Kelsey is square and athletic in her stance and takes an on-time stride to contact. She stays balanced throughout her swing and displays good bat path to the ball. She attacks the pitches really well and stays smooth through the zone. She works her hips and hands together and shows controlled footwork in the box. She stays smooth through extension and displays gap to gap power. By focusing on transferring her weight from the backside through her legs she will start to notice more consistent power through her contact. Overall, Kelsey is a coachable and hard working athlete that will continue to improve on what is needed to play at the next level.
