06/16/2014 - College PREP - Birmingham, AL Kiana is a talented 3B with a well-balanced skill set. Defensively, she has an accurate arm with carry on her throw and moves well laterally. Working on fielding the ball out front and staying down and through the ball will help improve fielding efficiency. Overall, Kiana understands the position well and has a confident approach to playing defense. As a hitter, she uses a square set up with a short stride with a back load and keeps her balance centered before aggressively producing hard contact. She shows natural power and will benefit from utilizing the lower half more efficiently. Better extension after contact and better timing will allow her power to increase and help her utilize all fields. Overall, Kiana has a good frame for the position and solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
