06/23/2014 - Softball Factory World Series Kristeny continues to refine her skill set behind the plate. As a C, she has a strong, accurate arm with natural receiving and blocking instincts. Kristeny makes quick exhanges allowing her to throw runners out quickly as well as balanced and clean blocking skills preventing pass balls on a consistent basis. Her natural athleticism allows for her to be a competitor behind the plate as well as a versatile player all around. As a hitter, she aggressively attacks the ball as she crushes various pitches consistently. Kristeny is a line drive hitter with a lot of pop and will benefit from a more explosive lower half to generate more power on contact, allowing her to be a more consistent hitter. Overall, Kristeny has a good attitude and solid athletic ability to continue her athletic development.
01/05/2013 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Kristeny is a talented young C/SS with an advanced skill set on both sides of the ball. As a C, she has an athletic sit, frames well and surrounds ball with sound body control. She is good side to side on blocks and should continue to work on timing to block and keeping feet in line to throw to improve accuracy. At the plate, Kristeny uses a closed stance with a downward back load, no stride and centered balance before launching her short swing to the ball. She hits for power and has a very good bunt game to insure she is putting pressure on the defense every time she gets a chance. She will benefit from moving back in the box a little bit to help create better angles and allow herself to see the ball in flight longer. Overall, Kristeny has a ton of potential and should continue to seek quality reps and instruction to ensure her development continues in a timely manner.
