04/21/2013 - College PREP - Tacoma (Seattle), WA Krystina is a very talented 2 way player with an advanced feel for the game on both sides of the ball. In the circle, she features a whip-like arm swing from an athletic stance with smooth rhythm and tempo throughout her delivery. She keeps her shoulders level, has in line direction and gets to an athletic finish in a strong fielding position consistently. She shows a solid understanding of changing speeds while pitching to contact and should continue to work on getting more consistent with her spins, movement and action to improve overall effectiveness. As a 1B, she is a soft handed defender with fluid footwork, a solid fielding position and has a quick efficient transfer. She is smooth around the bag with her feet and will benefit from keeping her feet active pre-pitch, staying low when going to her back hand and staying aggressive with her feet when starting a double play. At the plate, Krystina uses a square set up with a back load, short stride and keeps her weight back before launching her short swing to the ball. An aggressive hitter, she hits the ball had to all fields, generates explosive bat speed and possesses an above average bunt game which she uses to keep pressure on opposing defenses. Striding to a soft front foot will help her eliminate her rare tendency to lunge at the ball, causing her back leg to lock out and power to be surrendered. Overall, Krystina is an exciting player with a good approach to the game and carries herself very well in a competitive environment which will help in the near future.
