She is vocal and has a strong arm. Lacey has a good transfer and on target throws to second base. She gets rid of the ball quickly. In the box, she makes consistent contact. Improving her lower half and weight transfer with the stick will increase her power. Working on speed and blocking drills will help Lacey take her game to the next level. Overall, she has the skill set and tools to continue improving her game on the dirt.
12/27/2020 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament - Prospects Lacey is a coachable C/1B prospect who showcased her skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament. Behind the plate, Lacey presents a good target to the pitcher and tracks the ball into her glove. She gains ground well on her throws and keeps them on the 1B side of the 2B bag. Sitting in a more athletic stance can help Lacey improve her overall catching ability. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a short stride. She gets into a small load and produces solid contact. Lacey can barrel up more softballs by getting more extension through her swing. Overall, Lacey is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon her skills on the field.
11/01/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Salem (Roanoke), VA Lacey is a tall, solid C/1B who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, she presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. She uses her body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed a range of 2.13-2.14 with accuracy on her throws. She throws from knees. Times will continue to drop as she builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the ball quicker. At 1B, she displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is firm and presents well out front. Feet are active but needs to attack balls and play through with her body. Range will increase as she improves foot quickness. At the plate, she continues to shine with solid hitting abilities with excellent power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (75 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. She has strength in her swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to increase as she utilizes her lower half more efficiently. With 3 years to further develop, Lacey has potential with time and room to progress her game.
