02/22/2014 - College PREP - Mt. Laurel, NJ Lauren is a left-handed junior second baseman with a well-balanced skill set. Defensively, Lauren receives the ball with soft and sure hands. She has active and fluid footwork with agile range when moving from side to side. Lauren gets good reads and takes accurate angles to the ball. She hustles everywhere on the field and plays with passion. Lauren will benefit from keeping her body under control when moving to the ball. Offensively, Lauren hits and slaps from the left side. She uses a slightly closed setup before taking positive steps to the ball. She is an aggressive hitter that maintains centered balance through contact. Lauren takes a good approach to slapping the ball. She keeps the ball on the ground and makes the ball take hops. Lauren will benefit from staying inside the ball and incorporating a weight transfer into her swing. Overall, Lauren is an athletic lefty that will continue to develop as a player.
11/07/2013 - Softball Factory Select Training at Vero Beach Lauren is an evolving OF and LHP with a balanced skill set. Defensively, she understands the demands of both positions well. As an OF, she starts off in an athletic fielding position, fields using sure hands, takes good routes to various balls consistently. Working on an aggressive approach to the ball will help her to improve efficiency. As a LHP, she uses a full arm swing with a smooth rhythm and good leg drive to help her get to her powerline with a natural finesse as she challenges hitters with her arsenal of pitches. Working on her dropball snap will help her to improve velocity and movement. Overall, Lauren is an eager learner and has a confident approach to playing defense. At the plate, she uses an athletically balanced square set up with mid hands, a smooth, on time load, a short stride and keeps her balance centered before launching to the ball with powerful bat extension that produces line drives. She shows good power and will benefit from bat placement to improve the efficiency of her slapping mechanics, ultimately allowing her to access the entire field more effectively. Overall, Lauren is a natural leader and has solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
08/18/2013 - College PREP - Medford, NJ Lauren is a developing athlete with potential for growth. As a LHP, her fundamentals and pitching arsenal set the ground for success on the mound. She utilizes her pitching mechanics consistently and displays mound presence and athleticism while in the circle. As an OF, she has an accurate arm, confident glovework, and efficient footwork that assists her in field coverage to various balls. Lauren's aggressive approach and pitch selection produces hard contact at the plate. As a slapper, she has quick footwork after contact. A strength and conditioning program will also increase overall speed, agility, power, body awareness, and coordination. Lauren will be on track for seeking collegiate attention as she continues to develop and mature.
