08/13/2014 - College PREP - Elgin (Chicago), IL Lauren is a sophomore catcher with a developing skill set. Behind the plate, Lauren communicates well with her pitcher and defense. She has an accurate arm on throw downs and plays at first. Lauren will benefit from working on her footwork, arm strength, and range from side to side. Offensively, Lauren uses an open setup in the box before making her move to the ball. She is a strong hitter that shows potential power. Lauren has a level swing through the zone and will benefit from using her lower half. By working to shorten her path to the ball and extend through contact, Lauren increases her power numbers and consistency. Overall, Lauren is a good kid with an athletic build. By working to build her confidence on the field and trusting her abilities Lauren will perform at a higher level.
