12/27/2018 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament (Grad Years 2019-2023) Lauren joins us for the Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament. Lauren proved to our coaching staff that she is dedicated to the game and improving her skill set. During game play, Lauren has an aggressive approach in the box. She battled each at bat and was able to ball in play in with line drive power. She shows good pitch recognition and is able to draw the walk. Working to engage in her lower half will allow her to generate more momentum to and through the ball. At 3B, Lauren handled the routine play well. She shows a good pre-pitch approach and does a nice job of presenting her glove. She makes a clean exchange and works to get in line with her target. Adding a ladder drills and footwork agilities will allow her to quicken her first step. Overall, Lauren is a coachable player that will continue to improve her skill set.
08/05/2018 - College PREP - Ashburn (DC), VA Lauren is a 2021 right handed pitcher and third baseman with a strong skill set. She moves well at third base and has a strong base to cover her ground. She stays light on her feet through the ball and creates good momentum through her throw to first base. On the mound, she has a calm presence and extends through well on her release. She keeps an open hip direction and a fluid arm action in her mechanics. She drives well through her legs creating good velocity and has correct spin on her pitches. Offensively, she is athletic in the box and has an on time stride to the ball. She stays center in her balance and swings hard every single time. She shows power in the gaps and makes consistent contact. Overall, she has great work ethic and is very coachable. She will do what it takes to play at the next level.
11/15/2017 - Under Armour Softball Factory Fall Classic - 16U Lauren is a 2021 right handed third baseman with a developing skill set. She has a great attitude and hustles hard at all times. Defensively, Lauren has a good pre pitch and is quick in her action to the ball. She has a quick release on her throw and keeps her momentum forward to her target. By focusing on staying lower in her legs she will create more range laterally for herself when fielding. Offensively, Lauren is tall in her set up and takes a short stride to the ball. She stays center in her balance and keeps her swing on plane through the zone. She makes solid contact with the inside pitch and really drives her legs through creating more power behind her hits. Overall, Lauren is coachable and has great work ethic. If she keeps up her hard work she has potential to take her game to the next level.
08/06/2017 - College PREP - Ashburn (DC), VA Lauren is a 2021 right handed third baseman and pitcher with a strong skill set. She displays active feet and is agile in her range. She has a strong field presence about her and is smooth thru her plays. She has soft hands and a quick exchange to her target. She stays short in her action and has accurate throws to her target. On the mound, Lauren has a calm presence and a strong change up. She has correct spin on her change up and good control on this pitch. She has a fluid arm action on all of her pitches but by focusing on not falling forward in her wind up and making use of her legs more she will start to see more spin and velocity off of her pitches. She is a strong girl who can bring a lot to the mound with her leg drive. Offensively, Lauren has a tall set up in the box and a soft stride to the ball. She loads back well and keeps her hips and hands in alignment thru her swing. She creates hard contact and shows power. Overall, Lauren has great work ethic, adjusts well, and will work hard at what it takes to get her game to the next level.
