12/27/2018 - College PREP - Rindge, NH Lauren McLaughlin is a 2020 shortstop with a well-balanced skill set. In the field, she has active footwork and agile range especially to her glove side. She is an aggressive fielder and squares up well on the ground ball. With her clean exchange and quick arm action her throws are on-line to her target and consistently accurate. At the plate, Lauren is a power hitter. Sets up in an athletic stance and has fluid smooth rhythm. She explodes with her lower half and has fast bat speed which results in consistent hard contact. With more load at the beginning and longer extension through contact she will generate even more power. Lauren definitely has what it takes to play at the next level.
