12/27/2016 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament Leah is a 2019 third baseman that returns to the softball factory to attend the Christmas camp and tournament. Defensively, Leah has quick footwork and shows good range in all directions. She is athletic in her fielding position and has soft hands when fielding the ball. Leah is quick on her exchange and fluid with her arm action to throw. She works well with her momentum and makes on-line throws to her target. Offensively, Leah takes a short stride to contact and shows great power at the plate. She adjust well from pitch to pitch and has great bat speed to contact. Leah works hard to engage her lower half and works inside the ball well. Overall, Leah has a contagious attitude on the field and always has a smile on her face. She is very coachable and shows great teamwork at all times. Leah will continue to get better and works on all the little things to take her game to the highest level possible.
04/10/2016 - College PREP - Marlborough (Boston), MA Leah makes her return to Softball Factory to display improvement in her game. At the plate, Leah does a lot of things right. Her balance is centered with lots of raw power and good hip/hand coordination. She will benefit from working to keep her top hand palm up and strong at contact. At 3B, Leah displays efficient footwork, on time separation in her hands, and accurate throws. Maintaining a low and athletic position will help Leah keep her glove low and her body in a position to carry her momentum towards her target. In the OF, Leah gives maximum effort to make plays for her team. She hustles and makes consistent throws on the plate. Participating in a speed and agility program will allow Leah to improve her footwork. Overall, Leah is a hard worker with a great attitude.
08/07/2015 - Advanced Training at the Junior Women's World Championship Leah is dedicated to the game and continues to work on her fundamentals. In the box Leah is an aggressive player and jumps on pitches in her zone early. She shows good bat control and is able to put the bunt down when needed. Seeing the ball deeper into the hitting zone will allow Leah square up consistently and will also allow her to hit to all fields. Defensively Leah has an aggressive approach and handles the routine ground ball. She listens to the coach's advice and works to put it into play. Quickening her footwork and adding a pre pitch to her approach will allow Leah to play through the ball and gain ground to her target. Overall Leah has a passion for the game and with continued coaching and work on her fundamentals she will have the opportunity to take her game to the next level.
04/26/2015 - National Tryout - Marlborough (Boston), MA Leah returns to Softball Factory to show she has been working hard to improve her game. At the plate Leah has a good presences and displays a square stance. She shows patience in the box and good pitch recognition. Incorporating a consistent stride and load into her swing will allow Leah to engage her lower half as well as square up on more pitches. Behind the plate Leah has a good build and solid presence. She presents a good target for her pitcher and works hard and looks the ball into her glove. Working on being quicker to blocks will allow Leah to keep balls in the dirt out in front. In the OF Leah is a vocal player with an aggressive approach. She does a nice job to play through the ground ball and works to get in line with her target. When fielding fly balls, catching the ball at the highest point will allow her to make an efficient and quick transfer. Over all Leah is dedicated to improving her game and with continued coaching, reps and exposure she will have the opportunity to play at the next level.
11/06/2014 - Softball Factory Select Training at Vero Beach Leah is a continuing outfielder with a developing skill set. Defensively, Leah does s good job of hustling to the ball. She works hard to make each play happen. By working on her footwork and angles to the ball, Leah will be able to make many adjustments. Offensively, Leah uses a tall, high hands approach. Leah hits the ball hard at times. She will benefit from driving her hips through the ball and taking a direct path to contact. Overall, Leah is a hard working kid that will continue to develop as a player
09/21/2014 - College PREP - Beverly (Boston), MA Leah is a young C/OF with a developing skill set. At the C position, Leah has a good transfer and consistently makes accurate throws to 2B. She does well at catching the ball out in front and sticking each pitch. She shows knowledge in the position and makes adjustments. By incorporating more shoulder action into her throwing motion, Leah will increase her arm velocity. As an OF, Leah takes efficient angles on balls hit on the ground. After the catch, she does a good job of gaining composure to make good throws to home plate. By using more efficient footwork, Leah will be in better position to make more plays laterally and in front. Offensively, she uses a closed set up and a long stride to make contact with the ball. By introducing a load into her swing, Leah will be able to keep a strong position allowing her to build strength and power. Leah will also see an increase in her contact consistency by leveling her swing path. Overall, Leah works hard and is persistent in her pursuit to develop as a player.
