06/24/2013 - Softball Factory World Series Lexie continues to develop as an athlete. Her willingness to make adjustments helps her be successful on the mound. As a RHP, she shows potential to gain more power when she opens her hips. Continuing to focus on leg drive, spins and snaps, release point, opening the hips, and arm action will increase velocity, accuracy, and movement. As a 1B, she has an underdeveloped skill set. Continuing to focus skill development for the position will increase fielding success. As a hitter, she has an athletic approach, makes hard contact, and has potential. Continuing to focus on timing, utilizing the lower half, and bat speed will increase power and efficiency. Implementing a strength and conditioning program will increase speed, agility, power, body awareness, and coordination. As Lexie continues to develop and mature through application and experience, she will be on track for seeking collegiate attention.
05/11/2013 - College PREP - New Orleans, LA Lexie is a talented young RHP with advanced feel in the circle. She features a full arm swing with backward hand position in an athletic stance with smooth rhythm and tempo throughout her delivery. She keeps her shoulders level, stays in line and completes every pitch with a slightly open athletic finish. She has an advanced ability to change speeds without sacrificing command but should consider making some small adjustments like shortening her stride when throwing her Drop, it will give her more resistance thus making the drop more consistent/effective. Lexie has outstanding mound presence, uses her leg drive very well and should continue to work on Screw ball spin and command to add another pitch in which she can throw in any count. At the plate, Lexie uses a square set up with a back load, sort stride and keep her balance centered before launching her hands to the ball. An aggressive hitter, Lexie hits the ball well to her pull side and will be able to access the rest of the field if she sees the ball deeper into the zone improving her point of contact. She has a lot of energy out of the box, shows some barrel accuracy and will benefit from keeping her barrel through contact for extension, keeping her hands inside the ball and keeping her chin to contact to maximize the time her eyes spend tracking the ball. Overall, Lexie is a very exciting young player with a lot of potential. If she continues to work hard, seeks quality instruction and opponents and is detailed in her preparation she will consistently develop and will reach her potential in a timely manner.
