07/08/2022 - All-In Membership - Spring (Houston), TX Lucy is a 2025 graduate who pitches and plays 3B. She is explosive is consistent with her pitches. She has clean fielding mechanics and good glove work. In the box from both sides, Lucy extends and is selective with her pitch selection. Overall, she is athletic and has a good set of skills on the diamond.
01/14/2022 - 2022 Softball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Lucy Liu is a 3B with a strong arm. She has an overhand velocity of 60MPH. From the left side, Lucy Liu has a strong presence and strong swing. She battles in the box. Improving her bat lag (not dropping/faster hands) and a quicker first step on defense will help Lucy Liu improve her game. Overall, she has the skill set and tools to continue improving her performance on the diamond.
01/15/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Lucy is a 2025 3B that has earned Softball Factory Rookie Pre Season All American honors. In the box, Lucy is a RHH that uses a square stance. She has an aggressive approach and is able to consistently put the ball in play. Working to create more of a weight transfer in her swing will allow her to see more power production. At 3B, Lucy is an athletic player. She shows good range to her glove side. She does a nice job of getting in line with her target and makes accurate throws with carry. Working on her back hand approach will allow her to round out her defensive skills. Overall, Lucy is an energetic and hard working player that will continue to improve her game.
01/08/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament Lucy is an athletic C who has a promising future on the field. At the plate is where she shows best, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with well above average power potential through a crouched setup. Hands are quick (73 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path. She stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. At the event, she was 1 for 2 with a HR and 3 BB. Behind the dish, she presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. She uses her body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner and improve her lateral movements. Pop times showed in the range of 2.07 with accuracy and carry (57 mph velocity) to her target. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable and works hard to be the best player she can be. With 4 years to further develop, Lucy has a lot of potential with time and room to progress her game.
