01/21/2019 - College PREP - Omaha, NE Mackenzi is a 2023 right handed catcher with a developing skill set. Behind the plate, she has active feet and stays short to the ball. She frames the pitches well and receives with quiet hands. She has a clean exchange on her throws to bases and shows strength behind her release. Offensively, she has an open set up in the box and a short stride to the ball. She is fluid in her motion and center in her abalone. Her hips and hands work well together through her swing and she shows solid contact in the gaps. Overall, Mackenzi has a great attitude and works hard.
02/24/2018 - Mid Atlantic Regional Softball Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 11-13) Mackenzie is a coachable athlete with a great attitude. She is eager to learn and worked hard on what her coaches told her the entire camp. Mackenzie really improved on engaging more of her lower half in her swing and showed great improvement in just two days. Mackenzie has a square stance and takes a short stride to contact. She loads well and stays fluid to contact. Mackenzie stays balanced well throughout her swing and makes hard contact to all parts of the field. She adjust well when needed and displays strength at the plate. Mackenzie will continue to improve on getting stronger with her lower half and we can't wait to see the improvements next camp.
