She has a quick exchange and accurate throws to her target. Offensively, she has an open stance and centered balance. She has a soft stride and with more extension through the ball, it will increase her overall power production. Overall, Mackenzie is a ball player with a true passion for the game and a great attitude.
12/29/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Swarthmore (Philadelphia), PA Mackenzie is a RHP/SS prospect who continues to showcase her skills on the field. On the mound, Mackenzie shows a three pitch mix with her fastball topping out at 46mph. Changeup sits from 34-40mph. Drop ball sits from 32-46mph. Being more controlled in her finish can help Mackenzie improve as a pitcher. In the field, Mackenzie shows fluid footwork and gets into a square position. She fields with soft hands and makes a clean exchange. She gains momentum well on her throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to her target. Mackenzie can improve defensively by getting into a lower fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. She is smooth getting back into her load and hits against a strong front side. She barrels up the softball well, leading to loud contact and solid line drives. Driving her lower half more can help Mackenzie improve as a hitter. With five more years to develop, Mackenzie has the time and potential to further progress her skills on the field.
05/30/2019 - Softball Factory College World Series - Futures Select Training Mackenzie returns to another Softball Factory event displaying her developing skill set. In the circle, Mackenzie has excellent poise and a strong demeanor. She throws her change up with good command and mixes her speeds well to throw off hitters timing. She stays tall in her finish and attacks hitters early in the count. At second base, she sticks with the ball well when fielding. She makes accurate feeds to her target and stays through each play. She tends to sit high in her legs which can cut off some of her range laterally. If she continues to work hard staying low through each play she will move through each play smoother and create more range for herself to the ball. Offensively, she is relaxed in the box and has a controlled stride to the ball. Her hips and hands works well together through her swing and she makes consistent contact to her pull side. Mackenzie will do what it takes to play at the next level if she continues to work hard every time she steps on the field. We look forward to seeing what the future holds.

On the mound, she has a confident presence and extends through well on her release. She keeps an open hip direction and pushes off of the mound well in her lower half. She is balanced in the circle and creates good spin on her pitches. At second base, she displays range to her backhand side and has a clean exchange on her throws to her target. Offensively, she has a square set up in the box and a soft stride to the ball. She needs to work on keeping her hands level through the zone and not dropping them so that she can create more line drives in her contact. She displays the ability to spray the ball to all sides of the field and is very coachable offensively and defensively.
