05/30/2019 - Softball Factory College World Series - Futures Select Training Mackenzie returns to another Softball Factory event displaying her skill set on the field and her great work ethic. Defensively, she is smooth in her footwork to the ball and stays athletic in her movements. She has a clean exchange on her throws to her target and makes accurate throws across the diamond. She creates backspin in her release and solid momentum through each play. Offensively, she is relaxed in the box and has a soft stride to the ball. She activates her lower half well through her swing and stays on time through the zone. She makes hard contact consistently and creates good pop in her contact to all parts of the field. Overall, Mackenzie continues to impress with her work ethic and good attitude.
06/18/2018 - Softball Factory World Series (Grad Year 2023-2025) Mackenzie is a 2024 right handed outfielder with a developing skill set. Defensively, she has solid footwork and makes routine plays. She keeps her throws to low to her target and displays accuracy on her throws. She has a square fielding position and reads the ball well off of the bat. By focusing on keeping her momentum through each play and not stopping to throw she will start to be more fluid in her release to her target. Offensively, she has a square and athletic set up in the box. She gets to extension in her swing well and keeps her head on the ball. She needs to drive through her lower half more in her swing to create more pop in her contact. Overall, Mackenzie ha a great attitude and is very coachable. If she keeps working hard she will do what it takes to play at the next level.
05/31/2018 - Softball Factory College World Series Select Training (Grad Year 2023-2025) Mackenzie is a 2024 right handed outfielder with a developing skill set. Defensively, she comes through the ball well on ground balls and comes up making an accurate throw to her target consistently. She is aggressive and stays light on her feet in the outfield but needs to work on tucking her glove when she runs for balls in the gap. If she tucks her glove she will create more range to the ball. Offensively, she has a square setup in the box and stays center in her balance. She keeps a firm front side and gets through extension well in her swing. Overall, she makes consistent contact and if she works hard she can do what it takes to play at the next level.
01/07/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Dayton, OH Mackenzie is a 2024 two-way player as a OF/SS. In the box, Mackenzie is a RHH that uses a square stance with a short stride. She shows good pitch recognition and takes a direct path to the ball. She makes consistent contact and is a line drive hitter. Working to engage her lower half will allow her to power through contact and see an increase in her gap production. In the OF, Mackenzie is able to cover a lot of ground. She is hustles every play and communicates well. She presents her glove on time, makes a clean transfer and makes accurate throws with carry. Working to play through the ground ball will allow her to keep her momentum moving toward her target. At SS, Mackenzie handles the routine play. She gets in front of the ball and makes sure to keep it in the INF. She provides good feeds for the double play. Presenting her glove sooner will allow her to make a fluid transfer and make quicker throws. Overall, Mackenzie is a hard working player and with continued coaching she will take her game to the next level.
