06/23/2014 - Softball Factory World Series Macy performed very well during the Softball Factory World Series in all aspects of the game. Most importantly, in the pitching circle she was outstanding, controlling the game extremely well. Her control was excellent, gaining many first-pitch strikes, and stayed ahead of hitters throughout, getting a lot of outs. All of her pitches have better-than-average spin and movement and, along with her slightly better than average velocity, she's able to be very effective. Her screw and drop are her two best pitches and both showed to have sharp, late movement and she had terrific command of both. Her change-up had a sinking action and she was able to execute excellent velocity differential compared to her other pitches. Her mechanics are very good, led by a full arm swing and athletic stance. She works perfectly in line with home plate and finishes very athletically as well. She is a true pitcher, mixing her pitches well and commanding the strike zone. Macy's hitting tool grades improved significantly from the first time we saw her. She loads her hands well, stays balanced and gets her lower half involved in her swing, allowing her to generate decent bat speed and power. She has a nice line-drive approach and hits the ball well to all fields. Her in-game at bats were very productive. Overall, Macy showed to be an excellent teammate and her athleticism allows her to be very versatile. While she has the ability to play multiple positions, she definitely projects best as a pitcher. With continued hard work, she has the capability to be a very good player at the college level.
02/17/2014 - College PREP - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Macy is a talented RHP with a well-balanced skill set. On the mound, she has a good presence and fundamentals as she relies on her pitching arsenal when facing opponents. Working on more leg drive will help her to improve velocity. Overall, Macy is athletic and has a confident approach in the circle. At the plate, she uses a level bat path and keeps her balance centered before making hard contact to the pull side. She shows good power and will benefit from implementing a stride and load and an explosive lower half to improve power on contact, ultimately allowing her to access the entire field effectively. Overall, Macy has a good frame for the position and solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
