11/17/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Fall Classic - 18U Madysen is a 2022 graduate who plays in the outfield. She is athletic and makes great angles to the ball. In the box, she has power and is consistent. She is aggressive on the bases and has game knowledge. Improving her decision making in the box as well as more lower half will help Madysen take her game to the next level. Overall, she has the skill set and tools to continue improving her game on the diamond.
01/15/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Madysen continues to show as a prospect on the field. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as she displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as she takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. She works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to her target. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as she moves well laterally and covers ground. Throws are accurate with carry (61 mph velocity) to her target. At the plate she continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (70 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. She stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Once on base, she is an aggressive baserunner with great instincts. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable, works hard to be the best player she can be, and is a team player.
12/18/2020 - Softball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Madysen continues to shine on the diamond. In the OF, she displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as she takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. She works to get behind and plays through with momentum to her target. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as she moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (63 mph velocity) to her target. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable and works hard to be the best player she can be.
11/18/2020 - 2020 Under Armour Softball Factory Fall Classic - 16U Madysen is an athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, she displays outstanding hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (64 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. She makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach, spraying the ball to all fields with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, she displays outstanding skills showing smooth / clean actions. She takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls works to get behind and plays through with momentum to her target. Range is a plus as she reads balls well and moves well laterally and covers ground. Throws are accurate with carry on her throws to her target. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable, plays with a lot of energy, and works hard to be the best player she can be. With 3 years to further develop, Madysen has the makings of a special type player as she continues to progress her game.
02/17/2020 - College PREP - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Madysen Burkey is a 2022 right-handed first baseman with a developed skill set. Madysen has shown her impressive work ethic and her ability to hit from the left side. Offensively, she has a square setup and short stride. She is loaded back in her pre-pitch approach and has a fast barrel through the zone. She makes hard contact consistently and shows power to the opposite field gap. Defensively, Madysen has active footwork around and through each ball. She is agile in her lateral range and fields from a low position. She has a clean exchange and an accurate throw to her target.
