01/28/2017 - College PREP - Kapolei, HI Mahealani is a 2020 outfielder, third baseman with a developing skill set. Defnsively, Mahealani has quick, active footwork and shows good range in all directions. She takes good angles to the ball at both positions and stays athletic/low in her pre pitch. Mahealani has a clean exchange to throw and has quick, short arm action. She works well with her momentum and makes on-line, accurate throws to her target. Offensively, Mahealani creates good separation and is smooth with her rhythm/timing in the box. She keeps her head quiet and takes a direct route to contact. Mahealani is also able to work to all parts of the field. By engaging more of her lower half and working on her weight transfer, Mahealani will gain more power and strength at contact. Overall, Mahealani will continue to improve and work on what is needed to take her game to the next level.
