01/15/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament MaKenna continues to show as a prospect on the field. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as she displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as she takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. She works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to her target. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as she moves well laterally and covers ground. Throws are accurate with carry (55 mph velocity) to her target but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate she continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (75 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. She stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. At the event, she was 5 for 10 with a HR. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable, works hard to be the best player she can be, and is a team player.
01/17/2020 - 2020 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament MaKenna is a two-time Softball Factory Pre-Season All American. Our coaching staff enjoy working with MaKenna as she is a strong talent and natural leader. During game play, she was a consistent threat in the box. She makes hard contact and is able to send the ball to the fence. She is quick out of the box and smart on the base path. In the OF, MaKenna is fun to watch. She reads the ball off the bat and take good angles. She is able to make the diving play. She has a strong arm and gets the ball in quick. Overall, MaKenna will be a great add to a collegiate line up.
01/18/2019 - 2019 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament MaKenna is a 2021 right handed outfielder with a strong skill set. Defensively, she has an athletic fielding position with quick footwork. She works behind the ball well and comes through each play with solid momentum. She makes accurate throws to her target and has a quick release to her cut off. Offensively, she has a square set up in the box with a short stride to the ball. She is on time in her rhythm and explosive through the zone with her barrel. Her hips and hands work well together in her swing and she makes hard contact consistently. Overall, MaKenna brings great energy and is a team player.
07/11/2018 - 2018 Atlanta Legacy Showcase 14U MaKenna returns to Softball Factory for the Atlanta Legacy Tournament. During game play, MaKenna is natural leader that is vocal on and off the field. In the box she shows good pitch selection and is able to draw the walk. She jumps on pitches in her zone and is a consistent gap hitter. Once on base she remains a threat with her speed and instincts. In the OF, MaKenna reads the ball well and has quick feet. She is a play maker and her pitcher knows she will track down balls hit her way. Overall, MaKenna is a very exciting player to watch and we cannot wait to see what collegiate line up she becomes an asset to.
06/06/2018 - College PREP - Louisville, KY Makenna is a 2021 OF with the tools needed to play at the collegiate level. In the box, Makenna is a RHH that has an athletic stance with a short, soft stride and centered balance. She loads her hands, creates fluid rhythm and generates fast bat speed. She makes hard, consistent contact and is a gap-to-gap hitter. She is aggressive in the box and is able to hit the long ball. In the OF, Makenna reads the ball off the bat and is able to cover a lot of ground. She gets behind the ball and does a nice job of playing through. She makes a clean exchange and makes accurate throws with carry. Overall, Makenna is a strong player that will be a great addition to a collegiate line up.
