10/11/2015 - College PREP - Gainesville, FL Marcella is a 2018 two-way player as a SS/OF with a developing skill set. In the box Marcella is RHH that uses a square stance with good balance and on time rhythm. She is an aggressive in the box, has a good presence and is explosive to contact. She is a consistent line drive hitter that is also able to hit gap-to-gap. Widening her stance will allow Marcella to engage her lower half and see consistency in her power production. At SS Marcella is a hard working player that moves well to her glove side. She uses efficient footwork in her approach, presents her glove on time and fields with soft/sure hands. She uses the proper arm slot and makes accurate throws with carry to her target. Staying low and playing thru the ball more will allow Marcella to cut down the distance to her target. In the OF Marcella tracks the ball well and has quick footwork. She is an athletic player and works hard to keep the ball from finding the gap. Keeping her glove tucked while tracking the ball will allow her to be efficient in her approach to the ball. Overall Marcella is an athletic player with the tools needed to play at the collegiate level and with continued coaching she will have that opportunity.
