05/29/2014 - College World Series Select Training Mariah has an athletic setup behind the plate. She is stable and low which allows her to work and frame the strike zone for her pitcher. She has soft/sure hands and makes clean transfers which challenges runners. When blocking she is able to center and deaden the ball by tucking her head and round her shoulders. In the box, Mariah has a sound/strong base, with a square stride and smooth load. With a strong lower half she creates strong/consistent contact. She attacks the ball and does a great job of staying through the ball. With leadership and athletic ability, she will be an asset to a collegiate program.
01/11/2014 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Mariah is a freshman catcher with a well-balanced skill set. Behind the plate, Mariah has an athletic set up with playable footwork. She has good range to her glove side and backhand and does an exceptional job of blocking the ball. Mariah has an accurate arm, and by strengthening it up she will be more of a threat behind the plate. Offensively, Mariah uses a square setup, backwards load, and a short stride to make a positive move to the ball. Mariah maintains centered balance with a slightly upward swing path. She is a selective hitter that makes consistent contact to all sides of the field. By adding extension to her swing, Mariah will be able to stay through the ball longer and increase her power numbers. Overall, Mariah is a young talented athlete that will continue to grow and develop as a player.
