06/25/2021 - Softball Factory All-State Tournament Marilena is a 2022 graduate who catches. She is a strong blocker who can throw well from her knees. She has a pop time of 2.09 seconds. She has a quiet head/feet. In the box, she has power and a superb exit velocity of 76MPH. She makes strong solid contact and lifts the ball well. Her swing mechanics are consistent off the tee, front toss and live. Speed throws and transfer and low tee hitting drills will help Marilena take her game to the next level. Overall, she has the skill set and tools to further improve her game on the diamond.
07/06/2020 - All-In Membership - New Britain (Hartford), CT Marilena is a talented R/R catcher who can make things happen on the diamond. Behind the dish, she sits in well and tracks pitches into a soft mitt. She sticks pitches, framing well. She is quick laterally and works to center pitches in the dirt off of her chest. Throws down to 2B are accurate with pop times as low as 2.19. With the bat, this righty steps into the box looking to do damage. She has a square setup with centered balance. Quick hands and an aggressive swing connect and create consistent/hard contact, driving the ball to the gaps. Tsonis is a skilled catching prospect who has a bright future ahead of her in the game.
