She shows good hand eye coordination and consistently puts the ball in play. She shows line drive power to the pull side. Working to create a weight transfer in her swing will allow her to engage her lower half and see more power production. Behind the plate, Marissa flashes a strong arm with good accuracy. She has firm hands when receiving and makes a quick, clean exchange. She is able to throw from her knees when the ball takes her momentum that way. She works to get around the ball when blocking. She makes a clean exchange and provides good double play feeds. Creating a pre-pitch approach will allow her to get a stronger first step on the ball and play through to her target.
