01/17/2014 - 2014 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament Marissa is a freshman right-handed pitcher / first baseman that was selected to play in the Pre-Season All-American game. On the mound, Marissa uses an athletic stance with a full arm swing to deliver the ball. She throws the ball in the low 60's with her change up in the low 40's. She has a mixture of pitches with her drop curve being the most demanding. Marissa is an effective pitcher and does a good job of keeping batters off balance. At first base, Marissa will benefit from staying lower in her fielding position and having quicker footwork. Offensively, Marissa uses an athletic and square set up with a short stride to make a positive move to the ball. She has on time rhythm with explosive bat speed while maintaining strong balance throughout her swing. Marissa is a powerful hitter that will benefit from extending through the zone. Overall, Marissa is an athletic player that will continue to develop.
