10/21/2012 - College PREP - Raleigh, NC Marissa is a developing athlete. As a catcher, she exhibits sure hands, a quick, accurate exchange with life behind the ball, and excellent blocking skills (soft body blocking--balls die when blocked). Focus on widening her catching stance, increased agility (glove side range currently), a steady pre-pitch position (too much movement), and quicker reaction skills (late on responding to pitches)will allow for more efficiency and success as a catcher. At the plate, she has a square, center set up, a short, hard, compact swing, and stays inside the ball ultimately producing line drives and multi-field contact. Overall Marissa will continue to develop and is on track to receiving collegiate attention.
