08/14/2016 - College PREP - Boca Raton, FL Maryann returns to Softball Factory as a right-handed pitcher / second baseman that is continuing to solidify her skill set. In the circle, Maryann uses a mixture of pitches to attack each hitter. She gathers over the rubber, has on time separation and fluid arm action. Maryann does a good job of getting open, rotating to her target and extending through her release. Offensively, Maryann uses a soft stride and a fluid timing mechanism to make her move to the ball. She rotates her core at contact and does a good job of extending through the ball. By working to keep a strong backside, Maryann will increase her line drive productivity. As a defender, Maryann takes good angles to the ball. She has a good arm slot for the second base position with plus arm strength. Overall, Maryann is continuing to develop and will only improve with increased training and further development.
12/27/2015 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament Maryann returns to Softball Factory to show she is ready to take her game to the next level. Since her last outing Maryann has improved her home to first time and 5-1-5 shuttle runs. During game play Maryann proved to be a consistent hitter; finding a way on base any way she could. She shows good/hand eye coordination and is patient in the box. She is a vocal leader and is pushing her team on and off the field. On the mound Maryann has a focused approach and works to generate ground ball outs for her defense. She shows good control of her pitches and is not afraid to challenge hitters. Working to get her arm swing on line with her power line will allow her to finish through her pitches. Overall Maryann is a coachable player with a team focused approach and will be an asset at the collegiate level.
06/04/2015 - College PREP - Denver, CO Maryann is a 2017 two-way player as a RHP/3B with a developing skill set. On the mound Maryann has an athletic presence and is able to field her position. She shows good balance as she gathers over the rubber, separates on time and has a fluid arm action. She uses a 5-pitch package to attack batters with her curve and screw showing nice spin. Working on a long toss program will help Maryann see an increase in her velocity and will also allow her to see a a bigger variance between her fast ball and off speed. At 3B Maryann uses a good pre pitch approach to the ball and has fluid/efficient footwork. She does a nice job of presenting her glove out in front, has soft/sure hands and makes a good transfer. She uses the proper arm slot, gets in line with her target and makes accurate throws. Staying low throughout the play will allow Maryann to gain ground to her target. In the box Maryann has a square set up with good balance and on time rhythm. Her hands show an activated load and she is able to generate good bat speed. Maryann has gap-to-gap power and taking a direct route to the ball will allow her to see an increase in her consistency. Overall Maryann is an athletic player and with continued coaching, reps and exposure she will have the opportunity to take her game to the next level.
06/03/2014 - College PREP - Denver, CO Maryann is a freshman right-handed pitcher / third baseman with a developing skill set. On the mound, Maryann uses an athletic stance and full arm swing to deliver the ball. She has a mixture of pitches that she uses to attack each batter. Her speed pitches are consistently 53 mph, and her change up comes in at 44 mph. Maryann's best pitch is her curveball, which has late movement off the outside corner of the plate. She does a good job of making all of her pitches break and working the location. At third base, Maryann is not afraid to get dirty when moving to a ball. She will benefit from staying low when moving from side to side. Offensively, Maryann uses a slightly closed stance in the box before moving to the contact position. She has a short swing path and consistently hits the ball hard to both sides of the field. Maryann has quick bat speed which helps her get pop off the bat at times. By working to drive harder with her hips and legs, Maryann will become a much stronger hitter. Overall, Maryann is a developing athlete that will continue to grow with training.
