12/03/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Spring (Houston), TX McKayla is a 2024 graduate who pitches and plays 3B. She covers ground with solid glove angles. On the mound, McKayla has controlled mechanics with good composure. She has a quick arm circle and makes adjustments. Improving her rotation on the ball will increase her movement overall. In the box, McKayla has an exit speed of 63MPH and hits to all fields. Working on multiple arm slots at 3B and more extension when swinging will help McKayla take her game to the next level. Overall, she has the ability to continue improving her game on the diamond.
09/03/2021 - Softball Factory All-Region Tournament McKayla is a 2024 graduate who plays 3B. She is a solid athlete and great teammate. At the corner, McKayla has a good backhand. In the box, she has natural power. Improving her lower half and footwork when throwing across the field, as well as extending and not swinging up will help McKayla take her game to the next level. Overall, she has the skills and ability to continue improving her game.
01/15/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament McKayla is a 3B prospect who showcased her skills during the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. In the field, McKayla shows efficient footwork with a quick first step. She makes the routine plays and keeps her throws strong through her target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with her hands held high. She is fluid to load and produces loud contact and line drives. Overall, McKayla is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon her skills on the field.
01/08/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament McKayla continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. At 3B, she displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as she works around balls and plays through with her body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Feet are quick as she moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line carry across the diamond. At the plate, she continue to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (60 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path. She shows a feel for the barrel stays inside the ball with gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing and she shows a feel for the barrel. At the event, she was 4 for 9. On the mound, she shows a repeatable delivery, allowing her arm action to work loose to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 52-53 mph. Changeup sits 42-43 mph with tumbling action. Drop sits 1-52 mph. Control is solid as she attacks hitters and throws strikes with all her pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable and works hard to be the best player she can be.

At 3B, defensive abilities are outstanding as she displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as she works around balls and plays through with her body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Feet are quick as she moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line carry (54 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, she continue to shine, displaying excellent hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (71 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path. She shows a feel for the barrel and has strength in her swing and stays inside the ball with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, she shows a repeatable delivery, allowing her arm action to work loose to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 52-55 mph. Changeup sits 42-44 with slight sink. Drop sits 50-52 mph. Screw ball sits 51-52 mph. Control is well above average as she throws strikes with all her pitches. With 4 years to further develop, McKayla has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the college coaches as she continues to progress her game.
