02/20/2016 - Softball Factory Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend McKenna has a great attitude and work ethic. She enjoys being coached and has made changes that have made her a threat at the plate. We really focused on the following: making sure she had a good load, launch, getting to the slot, staying side the ball, palm up palm down, bat angel on contact, and a big finish. In 2 short days McKenna was able to make tons of adjustments and didn't look like the same hitter that she did when she started the weekend. I look forward to watching her continue to grow as a gap to gap hitter.
07/28/2015 - College PREP - La Plata, MD Mckenna is a 2019 infielder that is continuing to grow and develop her fundamental skill set. Defensively, Mckenna is a coachable kid that gives a ton of effort. She has efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. She makes quick adjustments and never gives up on a play. Mckenna exudes confidence through her positive attitude and work ethic. By working on her pre-pitch movement, Mckenna will be able to react quicker to the ball. Offensively, Mckenna uses an open setup in the box. She maintains good balance throughout her swing and understands contact points. She does a good job of loading her backside to generate power through the ball. Mckenna will benefit from getting to the extension position and working up the middle. Overall, Mckenna is a young, hard working athlete that will continue to work hard at developing her skill set.
03/01/2015 - Softball Factory Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend McKenna is a young RHH with an eye for the strike zone and the ability to make adjustments. McKenna uses a square set and on time rhythm when making a move towards the pitch. She is a line drive hitter, making consistently hard contact with the ball. McKenna will benefit from using a consistent contact point and foot positioning. Overall, McKenna is a good kid with a strong desire to get better. She continues to show an advanced skill set for her age.
12/27/2014 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament McKenna is a 2019 2B with a developing skill set. Defensively, McKenna has good quickness, ready hands, and an accurate arm. She has a good drop step on fly balls at 2B and gives maximum effort to make plays for her team. In tournament play, McKenna made a great play off of her right shoulder on a shallow ball to right field. Using a higher arm slot on her throws will help to increase throwing accuracy and velocity. At the plate, McKenna is a line drive hitter who battles every at bat. She uses a slightly closed stance and an activated load to make positive movement towards the ball. She will generate a significant increase in power production by incorporating more lower half drive into the swing. She is at her best in at bats when she is aggressive. Overall, McKenna is a great kid with an outstanding work ethic and attitude. She will without a doubt benefit a collegiate program in the future, and she is one to watch as she gets older.
