07/09/2019 - 2019 Atlanta Legacy Showcase 16U McKenzie returns to another Factory event impressing coaches with her energy and work ethic on and off the field. She continues to improve her game both on defense and in the batters' box. Offensively, she is open in her stance and relaxed in her rhythm. She keeps her hands loose and level through the zone. She activates her lower half well through her swing and stays fluid through her motion. Defensively, she is athletic in her fielding position and moves well through the ball. She creates solid momentum into her throws and is strong in her release. Overall, McKenzie will continue to improve and reach her goals of playing at the next level.
11/14/2018 - Under Armour Softball Factory Fall Classic - 16U McKenzie is a Softball Factory veteran that continues to elevate her game. During game play, McKenzie proved to be a resilient player. She worked hard every at bat proving she could perform in pressure situations. She makes solid contact and is a line drive hitter. Defensively, McKenzie is a natural leader in the OF. She reads the ball well and takes good angles. She makes a clean transfer and makes accurate throws to her target. Overall, McKenzie is the type of player that will be an asset to a collegiate line up and team.
01/12/2018 - 2018 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament McKenzie's dedication to the game has earned her Softball Factory Pre-Season All-American honors. In the box, McKenzie shows good pitch selection and has a middle of the field approach. She generates fast bat speed and consistently puts the ball in play. Extending through contact will allow her to see an increase in her power production. In the OF, McKenzie reads the ball off the bat and uses efficient footwork. She handles the routine play well and is willing to dive to keep the ball from finding the gap. Working to catch the fly ball at the top of her body will allow her to make a more efficient exchange. Overall, McKenzie is a coachable player with the tools needed to play at the next level.
07/12/2017 - 2017 Atlanta Legacy Showcase 14U McKenzie Dickson was a spark plug for our team at the Legacy. She always had a smile on her face and always brought energy to our team when we needed it. McKenzie held down the outfield with her speed, range, and leadership. She has soft hands, a quick release, and makes accurate throws to all targets. Offensively, McKenzie was in the two spot and produced key hits in RBI situations. She has a good eye at the plate and has good balance throughout her swing. McKenzie always swings hard through the zone and produces a smooth, fluid swing to contact. She is a strong kid for her size and hit a lead-off home run in one of her last games of the tournament. Overall, McKenzie is a great athlete that you would want a part of your team any given day. She will be a great asset to any collegiate program.
12/27/2016 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament McKenzie is a 2021 outfielder that returns to the Softball Factory to attend the Christmas Camp and Tournament. Defensively, McKenzie is quick/active with her footwork and has good range in all directions. She is athletic in her fielding position and uses her crow hop correctly to create momentum for her throw. McKenzie plays through each ball, has a clean exchange, and works with fluid arm action. She is quick with her release and accurate on her throws to her target. Offensively, McKenzie has a soft stride to contact and loads well in her legs. She has fast bat speed to contact and is consistent in squaring each ball up in the zone. McKenzie has good barrel control and is able to work to all parts of the field. By working with more balance at the plate and focusing on her extension through the ball, McKenzie will see her consistency and power improve at the plate. Overall, McKenzie is a young athlete that hustles on and off the field and will continue to improve on what is needed to take her game to a new level.
