07/09/2013 - Advanced Training and Competition at the World Cup Meghan continues to develop as an athlete. Her work ethic, attitude, and willingness to learn and make adjustments sets a tone on the field. As a C, she has a good presence, fundamental skill set, and position awareness. Continuing to focus on an athletic setup, fluid footwork, gaining ground when blocking, and quick transfers will increase efficiency and fielding success. As a hitter, she has an athletically balanced setup with a short bat path that produces contact. Continuing to focus on a stride and load, driving the hands through the zone, an explosive lower half, and bat extension after contact will increase power and consistency. Implementing a strength and conditioning program will increase speed, agility, power, body awareness, and coordination. As Meghan continues to develop and mature through application and experience, she will be on track for seeking collegiate attention.
05/19/2013 - College PREP - Gaffney, SC Meghan is a great kid with a steady skill set behind the plate. She receives with soft, sure hands, is an accurate thrower and a vocal leader on the field. She has a great presence, gets around her blocks well and will benefit from keeping some flex in her receiving arm to allow her to operate smoothly to the ball before sticking the pitch. She tucks her chin well when blocking, is an accurate thrower and should continue to work on shortening her route to the ball on bunt plays to be more efficient. At the plate, Meghan uses a square set up with a back load, no stride and produces line drive results with a simple path to the ball. She uses her hands well and will benefit from staying tall on her back side to eliminate tendency to collapse as well as keeping her barrel through contact to create extension, ultimately improving power production. Overall, Meghan is a great kid with a quality approach to playing the game with high energy and attention to detail. She should continue to work hard and seek quality instruction and opponents to ensure she is being pushed through her development.
