10/15/2017 - College PREP - Plano (Dallas), TX Melea is a 2018 outfielder with a developing skill set. She hustles hard on and off of the fields at all times and has a positive attitude. Defensively, Melea displays active feet and takes a good first step to the ball. She read the ball well in the air right off of the bat and gets her body positioned behind the ball well in order to get her momentum going thru the play. She is short in her action and has accurate throws to her target. Offensively, Melea shows slap ability and when she gets her feet on time she places the ball well. She makes consistent contact but by focusing on keeping her back shoulder from dropping she will start to see more solid consistent hits. Overall, Melea is very coachable and by continuing to work hard at her game she will do what it takes to take her game to the next level.
