07/09/2013 - Advanced Training and Competition at the World Cup Melinda continues to develop as an athlete. As a C, she has a basic understanding of the position. Continuing to focus on an athletic setup, fluid footwork, staying low when blocking, confident glovework when receiving, and utilizing the lower half when throwing will increase efficiency and fielding success. As a RHP, she has a basic skill set. Continuing to focus on fundamentals, leg drive, spins and snaps, and mound presence will increase velocity, accuracy, and movement. Implementing a strength and conditioning program will increase speed, agility, power, body awareness, and coordination. As Melinda continues to develop and mature through application and experience, she will be on track for seeking collegiate attention.
06/12/2013 - College PREP - Birmingham, AL Melinda is a developing athlete. As a C, she has an accurate arm, squares up body well when fielding bunts, and decent range. Focusing on a quick arm slot/release, quick, fluid footwork, and a balanced stance will increase efficiency. As a RHP, she has an athletic presence, decent rhythm, and good leg drive. Focusing on a consistent arm speed and motion and staying out front to clear body will increase accuracy and velocity. As a hitter, she produces decent contact and has natural strength that will generate power. Focusing on a consistent stride and load, utilizing the lower half, driving the hand through the hitting zone, and timing will increase power and efficiency. With implementation of the above recommendations, Melinda will be on track for seeking collegiate attention.
