09/24/2017 - College PREP - Austin, TX Mikaela is a 2019 SS with a balanced skill set. In the box, Mikaela is a RHH that uses an athletic stance with centered balance and soft, square stride. She generates fast bat speed, creates a short bat path and makes hard contact. Mikaela is able to drive the middle of the field while showing pop to opposite field. Engaging her lower half more and extending through the ball will allow her to see an increase in her power production. At SS, Mikaela has a smooth pre-pitch approach and uses efficient footwork. She shows good range to her glove side and back hand. She fields with soft/sure hands, makes a quick exchange and uses a short arm action. She works to get in line with her target and shows carry on her throws. Staying low and following through to her target will allow her to see more consistency in her accuracy. Overall, Mikaela is an athletic player and with continued exposure she will have the opportunity to take her game to the collegiate level.
