07/19/2013 - Factory Development Institute National Select Program Morgan continues to develop as an athlete. Her eagerness to learn and make adjustments sets a tone on the field. As a C, she has a basic idea of the position and made corrections on her stance and target. Continuing to focus on throwing regiment/arm strength, strong wrists when receiving, and pushing forward and rolling shoulders when blocking will increase efficiency and fielding success. As a hitter, she has a basic fundamental skill set that produces contact. Continuing to focus on a stride and load, driving the hands through the zone, utilizing the lower half, keeping the front side closed, and timing will increase power and efficiency. Implementing a strength and conditioning program will increase speed, agility, power, body awareness, and coordination. As Morgan continues to develop and mature through application and experience, she will be on track for seeking collegiate attention.
03/10/2013 - College PREP - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Morgan is a talented young C with a developing skill set on both sides of the ball. Defensively, she receives with soft hands, makes good throws with carry and gets out from behind the plate well to field bunts. She will benefit from staying low to throw, quickening her footwork to throw and leading with the glove to block, all of which she is athletic enough to improve. At the plate, Morgan uses a simple set up with a controlled stride and centered balance. An aggressive hitter, she keeps the barrel through the ball very well to generate leverage and create back spin to improve carry. She can drive the ball to all fields and should continue to work on keeping her hands close to her body and seeing the ball deeper into the zone to improve point of contact, ultimately improving power production and overall quality of contact. Overall, Morgan has a lot of potential and should continue to work hard, seek quality instruction and find the best possible competition to ensure she is being pushed.
