06/03/2014 - College PREP - Denver, CO Natalie is a sophomore catcher with a developing skill set. Behind the plate, Natalie receives the ball with firm, sure hands. She has fluid footwork and can move well from side to side when blocking and when fielding a bunt. Natalie talks a lot and does a good job of communicating with her pitcher. When blocking, Natalie keeps the ball in front and it bounces off of her chest. By working on her transfer into her throwing position, Natalie will be able to get rid of the ball quicker. Offensively, Natalie uses a square setup, down and back load, and short stride to make a positive move to the ball. She is a pull hitter that maintains centered balance through contact. Natalie makes hard, solid contact and will benefit from incorporating the use of her lower half. Overall, Natalie listens well and will continue to develop with training.
