09/20/2015 - College PREP - Albuquerque, NM Nikki is a 2017 3B with a balanced skill set. In the box Nikki is a RHH that uses an open stance with good balance and fluid rhythm. She has an activated load, takes a direct route to the ball and extends thru the hitting zone. She shows good hand/eye coordination and is able to hit to all fields. Seeing the ball deeper into the hitting zone will allow Nikki to keep her weight back and will also allow her to see consistency in her power production. At 3B Nikki has a good presence and is will to get dirty to keep the ball in the INF. She has a fluid pre pitch, uses efficient footwork and creates momentum to her target. She presents her glove on time, fields with soft/sure hands and makes accurate throws to her target. She reads the short hop well and makes accurate double play feeds. Using her front side more when throwing will allow Nikki to see consistency in her arm slot and follow thru. Overall Nikki is a hard working player with the tools needed to play at the collegiate level.
12/27/2014 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament Nikki continues to refine her natural skill set as a 3B and 2B. Defensively, she understands the demands of playing a hot corner and middle infield as she can seamlessly transfer between the two positions. Her glovework, athletic fielding position, and communication skills make her a leader on the field. Continuing to work on aggressively attacking the ball and staying down and through the ball will help to improve range and efficiency. Overall, Nikki makes adjustments easily and has a confident approach to playing defense. At the plate, she uses a square set up with an activated load as she stays inside the ball to produce powerful contact. She has a natural presence and is a fierce competitor. Nikki shows good power and will benefit from implementing a consistent weight transfer to generate more power on contact, ultimately allowing her to access the entire hitting field more effectively. Overall, Nikki has a good frame for the position and solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
09/14/2014 - College PREP - Albuquerque, NM Nikki is a sophomore third baseman with a well-balanced skill set. Defensively, Nikki has good footwork and quickness from side to side. She plays through the ball and has the ability to throw on the run when fielding a slow roller. Nikki has a fluid throw and good release across the field. By working to stay lower to the ground during her pre-pitch, Nikki will be able to move along the ground when fielding the backhand. Offensively, Nikki uses a square setup, active load, and short stride to make a positive move to the ball. She has on time rhythm and maintains good balance throughout her swing. Nikki takes a direct route to the ball and uses her legs to dive through contact. She has above average bat speed and barrel accuracy that helps her make solid contact. Nikki is a patient and selective hitter that knows what pitch she is looking for. She will benefit from working more line drives and gap-to-gap hits. Overall, Nikki is an athletic and young kid that is going to continue to develop as a player.
